My name is Benjamin Gott. You can call me Ben if you want to—everyone does.
Sadly, I’m not the Ben Gott who founded Boxed Water or the Ben Gott who was the father of the textile movement in early 19th-century England. So what’s my story? Well, I’m a writer: mostly of YA fiction (primarily thrillers) but also of non-fiction. (Years ago, one of my anonymous internet comments was featured on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart—but that’s a story for another time!) Professionally, I’ve been a middle school educator and occasional school administrator since 2001. I also serve as an education specialist and organizing consultant with In Order to Succeed®, one of the greater NYC area’s preeminent organization and concierge moving services. In my spare time, I make music, watch horror movies, listen to Britpop and ’90s R&B, and annoy my neighbors by refusing on principle to pick up the twigs in my backyard. I don’t have a dog (even though dogs are great!), I love ice cream (favorite flavor: Ben & Jerry’s Peanut Butter Cup), and my ears pop every time I get on an airplane.
If you want to find out more about who I am and what I do, it’s all here. You can also send me a message (I promise I’ll write back!) or look me up on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, or LinkedIn. (And, just for the record, my pronouns are he, him, and his.)
